No official notification has been released yet regarding SSC GD 2026. Last year the SSC GD exam was conducted in February. This year also its forms may start in October or November and its exam is likely to be held in February 2026.


Eligibility

If you want to fill SSC GD Exam Form then you must have passed 10th class from a recognized board and your age should be 18 years.

Nationality Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit 18 to 23 years (age relaxation as per govt rules).
Education Minimum qualification is 10th pass from a recognized board.
Physical Standards Candidates must meet SSC’s physical and medical requirements.

SSC GD Application Fee

(SC),(ST) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) exempted from payment of fee.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in SSC GD. You can choose the language of your choice – English, Hindi and one of the 13 regional languages, namely (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Makdi, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Oriya, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Kannada and (xiii) Arabic. Choose the language for which you wish to appear for the exam.

If we talk about the selection process of SSC GD then there will be three processes which are as follows.

  1. First is Computer-Based Exam (CBE)
  2. Second is Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ (PST)
  3. Third is Medical Test / Document Verification (DV)

Salary For SSC GD Post

If we look at the post wise salary in SSC GD: The Pay Level-1 for the post of Constable in NCB is (Rs. 18,000 to 56,900) and the Pay Level-3 for all other posts is (Rs. 21,700-69,100).

As soon as the SSC GD notification is released, you can visit the official SSC website and fill out the application form. If you already have an account, you can directly proceed to fill out the form. If you don’t have an account, create one first and then fill out the application form.

Application Process

  1. Visit New Website ssc.gov.in
  2. Complete One-Time Registration.
  3. Fill in the online application form.
  4. Upload scanned documents (photo, signature, etc.).
  5. Pay the application fee.
  6. Submit and download the confirmation page.

Admit Card

The SSC GD admit cards are expected to be released in January 2026. Once the SSC GD admit cards are released, you can download them by logging into your account on the SSC website.

SSC GD 2026 Answer Key

The SSC GD exam will be conducted in different shifts during January and February. The answer key for the GD exam is likely to be available in early April, which you can download from the SSC website. Please note that the answer key will only be available for a limited time, so if you don’t download it then, you won’t be able to access it later.

Vacancy of SSC GD 2026

No official announcement regarding the number of vacancies in SSC GD has been made yet. However, last year, the initial number of vacancies was 39,481, which was later increased to 53,690. Similarly, a large number of vacancies are expected in SSC GD this year as well.
